Meet mothers, health workers and children throughout the tour which includes a visit to the Belaku Trust and to the Midwifery Hospital in Vellore, an Ayurvedic Hospital and a lunch organised by a women’s community association in a rural village.

About the tour
Led by Professor Cathy Warwick CBE, General Secretary of the Royal College of Midwives, this successful tour has now become a regular fixture on the JBT tour programme. Travel from ancient Mahabalipuram on the Indian Ocean to gracious Mysore, home of sandalwood, silk and spices. Journey up into the hills at Coonoor and down again into the lush lands of beautiful Kerala. Take a fresh look at Indian culture and society through the eyes of women and their families, while enjoying the cultural treasures and stunning natural beauty of south India. Professional visits range from prestigious big city public hospitals and well established NGOs, to an Ayurvedic hospital and village community projects in rural India.
