About the tour
Some of the most dramatic and well preserved vestiges of the ancient Greeks and Romans are found along the North African coast, overlooking the vivid blue Mediterranean sea. This tour looks at spectacular ancient ruins and art; modern history in El Alamein and Tobruk; the exciting current cultural flowering of Alexandria, which is reasserting itself as a world cultural centre; and Tripoli, an ancient city in a state of growth and transition. Specialist talks throughout the tour place both the historical and contemporary in sharp focus.
This tour is led by John Richardson. More about John.
