About the tour
This tour is specifically designed to give doctors a thorough, practical introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it is used in context in China. The specialist professional visits also show how the Chinese utilise an integrated and holistic approach to practicing medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one part of that, as are diet, exercise, environment and also Western medical techniques. The Chinese place strong emphasis on preventative medicine, which is especially effective for the ageing population. There will be a briefing meeting before the tour which will discuss the Chinese philosophical background to TCM. A full cultural programme will provide a context to the professional visits and also the opportunity to enjoy the stunning landscapes, history and society of this extraordinary land.
This tour is led by Michael Dooley. More about Michael.
