Highlights
Hear paediatrician Dr Aleida Guevara, daughter of Che Guevara, speak about healthcare issues in Cuba. Talk to local dentists about the challenges they face in their day-to-day practice. Take a walking tour to look at Havana’s restoration project led by a city historian and award winning architect, and enjoy Havana's music and vibrant nightlife. Take a boat trip, visit a successful commune and a tobacco farm in beautiful Vinales Valley. Onto Trinidad, where you can wander through the cobbled streets and admire the baroque churches. Drive to Cienfuegos and walk through the stunning Topes del Collantes mountains and learn of the medicinal properties of local plants with an expert naturalist guide. Take a scenic train journey to historic Santa Clara and visit the resting place of Che Guevara, before checking into a resort on an idyllic tropical beach for three nights.
