Itinerary at a glance

  • 17 May (Thur) London / Edinburgh: If taking the train option take the train from King’s Cross. Arrive and transfer to The Bonham Hotel. Welcome dinner at The Royal College of Surgeons
  • 18 May (Fri) Edinburgh: Take a medical history of Edinburgh walking tour with specialist guide, Sheila Devlin-Thorpe. Lunch followed by a visit to the Scottish Parliament. Please note that if above a certain group size, we will have two groups, one taking part in the medical walking tour in the morning and the Parliament in the afternoon, switching over in the day.
  • 19 May (Sat) Edinburgh: Optional early morning walk to Arthur’s Seat. Talk: The Scottish Enlightenment. Lunch followed by a city tour by bus including a visit to Museum of Scotland, followed by geological overview of Edinburgh. Continue onto Edinburgh Castle and explore the famous site. Optional Scotch Whisky Society tasting and dinner in the evening
  • 20 May (Sun) Edinburgh: Visit Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith in the morning. Take the train back to London or extend for a night (see below) 

Edinburgh extension:

  • 20 May (Sun) Edinburgh – extension day: Visit Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith and check into Hotel du Vin and at leisure until your farewell dinner.
  • 21 May (Mon) Edinburgh / London: Take the train back to London after breakfast
